Sadly the hotel was very warm with no way to adjust the room heating. Windows could not be opened and even with this I could clearly hear the cars from the road outside. Also had a few things falling apart in my room and to top it off a lovely fire alarm went off at 06:50 to wake everyone up. Just to finish my stay, the check out computer did not work and advised to speak a staff member which took me ages to find anyone. Sadly think I will be looking elsewhere to stay on my next visit.

Beautiful grounds - on arrival had to hunt the hotel to find someone to check in - room was basic but clean - water was scalding hot or freezing cold, breakfast was very good

On first arrival to the reception ,was a very dirty carpet. then even though a young lady was at the desk, my husband had trouble checking us in, after having 4 mini strokes this year. Then our very dated and dirty room was not what we were expecting.

A one off stay
Room wasn't ready for check in (arrived around 15.45) - got a free drink for the inconvenience which was appreciated. Room was good in size but just very old - stains on the carpet, door chain not working, bathroom really old (flush the toilet multiple times for it to work). When i asked to have the room serviced, only the bed was made and bin emptied - no new towels even though they were in the bathtub to be replaced... in fact these used towels were just put on the radiator... overall the wbole place meeds a makeover and maybe some training for the staff as well

I really enjoyed staying at this hotel. The room I had this time was very comfortable with a spacious bathroom. The traffic noise was manageable, because the beautiful gardens provided secluded and peaceful respite. The staff, as always, were fantastically attentive, both on reception, at breakfast and at dinner, so many thanks to you all for that. I will definitely return in the future.

Our room was at the back of the building opening onto a parking lot, where the staff hung out and smoke and other staff emptying glass bottles in the metal recycle bins, ridiculously loud and shocking noise. We were trying to sleep before driving to the airport very early in the morning

The hotel has been renovated since we last stayed and is nice and modern with a walk in shower. Our room had twin beds which were very narrow and quite firm. We did have an issue with the shower temperature but the staff rectified that promptly. The only complaint would be the cost of breakfast, you cannot just pay for a continental breakfast.

I apologise you weren't happy with the cost of breakfast, we charge 12.95 for a full breakfast, which includes anything from the buffet as well as a cooked breakfast. Continental breakfasts are charged at 7.95 which entitles you to anything from our buffet. We hope this doesn't deter you from staying again in the future. If you book a bed and breakfast rate this would be better value for money and means you can have anything from the buffet and breakfast menu.

Exc Excellent value for money. Travelling on a budget you really couldn't do better. Breakfast is great, room clean and tidy, staff friendly and helpful. Nice grounds a little oasis.

Generally a good standard but parking is a struggle if you arrive when a function is taking place. Breakfast buffet was fine. Would definitely stay again.

Stay at the prior bury st edmonds
Overall was a nice stay the room was clean but felt warm and smelt a bit stale the twin beds were quite small in width not good if you were a larger built person also felt a chest of draws would be good as only small draws not big enough for clothes. But everything you need in room. The staff very welcoming and restaurant service very good .

Ok , i guess will probbaly stay again
Did hat it needed to. was concerned i would break the batch while showering as the base was flexing every time i moved , a light was on perminatly and i had to remove the bulb as couldnt find a switch , chain for door not working . needs a bit of love and attntion .

No complaints 👌
Clean, spacious room with car parking outside the door. WiFi worked perfectly secure with password rather than having to sign in, which would be irritating. The staff were friendly and helpful. Pet friendly, for £10 per dog per night. Recommended and would stay there again.

The property was empty at around 10.0 pm ,the bed mattress was poor and the facilities in the bedroom were limited one easy chair and one office type chair.
