Lovely to look at
Have visited Tavira many times. Stayed at different locations for 6-8 weeks.
Positives:
The apartment was well laid out.
Good WiFi signal.
Once inside the gate the property was well managed
Negatives:
Not a ground floor apartment. Steps, cobblestones, & grass made luggage/shopping tiresome & impossible to get wheels over.
Dog in end unit above us frequently barking, especially when tied to rail. We read there was a no pet policy. Did not appreciate it being walked on grass in front of our apartment.
Children playing on grass above us - heard them through our ceiling - soccer ball got caught in the bougainvillea above our patio - parent came down and poked at it right in front of our windows with broom handle to get it down.
Dishwasher was not used as it took far too long to complete its cycle and was very noisy.
Mould on the ensuite bathroom ceiling above the sink. Also in wall cupboard in master bedroom; on blind in master bedroom; around front door frame.
Did not use the bath or shower in the ensuite bathroom to avoid adding extra moisture.
The furnishings, including the bed in the master bedroom, were “tired”. Pillows lumpy & stained. Couch was soft and lumpy. Chair cushions well worn.
On packing to leave, we found a toothbrush that was not ours under drawer unit in ensuite bathroom. It survived at least 3 cleanings.
Hot water supply great but scalding.
Area outside gate not very pleasant - untidy, smelly, overflowing garbage bins. Dog droppings on pavement.
