With regard to the outside of the property, we had taken an early decision to just keep it freshly and tastefully painted, rather than opt for a more lavish exterior decor. Particularly as we consider ourselves a "convenience", rather than a "resort" facility, we actually prefer to avoid attracting any casual walk-in attention. But, as you have observed and stated, we try to focus more of our energies on optimizing guest experience, both within our walls, and with what we can arrange or facilitate from within our walls. Hi, Dane. Thanks for your warm review despite the cold water. I wish you had drawn it to our attention while you were here, though, as we would have been able to rectify with a simple explanation. You see, because of the lay-out of the property, both main heaters had to be located on the western extremity, so the hot water takes a while to reach the taps / faucets situated closer to the eastern peripheries. Our sincerest apologies for your discomfort, however mild, and our thanks for the learning opportunity, as it should probably be standard operating procedure to let guests know this upon check-in, and / or place suitably designed signs at service points affected by this phenomenon.That said, in the unlikely event that there may actually have been a real plumbing issue with your room, we will have it checked today.Thanks again. In attempting to provide the kind of environment where guests can feel fully relaxed and at home, it is necessary for us to ensure that their comfort is not undermined by the conduct or behaviour of other guests . . . hence the need for rules and regulations. We are not quite sure what constitutes for you "too much rules and regulations", but we feel that it is our responsibility, indeed our obligation, to ensure that our space is free of overly loud noises, that guests comply with the minimum expectations of cleanliness and deportment, and, perhaps the one restriction that triggers the most intense response, that guests are required to respect our promise, to all guests, of a smoke-free environment. Perhaps with this in mind, you might be inclined to consider allowing us another opportunity to host you at Culture Crossroads. Regards. Colin

Actually, the guest that occupied the room after you drew it to our attention, and we had it sorted out immediately. A malfunctioning flow sensor was the culprit. I'm not quite sure how to respond to your observation on "tidiness", though, as that is usually one of our strong points. Suffice it to say that we are very sorry that we fell short of your expectations in that regard. We are heartened, though, by the fact that, your observations notwithstanding, you opted to extend your stay with us, by one day in the first instance, then by a further four. Good evening, and thank you for your review. While I'm glad you found our staff sufficiently engaging, I'm sorry that we appear to have fallen short in a couple areas. For the record, though, it is not quite true to say that we service rooms every third day . . Full housekeeping service is scheduled for every three days . . UNLESS the guest says otherwise. This is stated in our Guest Policies, which ALL guests are required to read and sign upon check-in. Unfortunately, this does not always happen, and some guests remain unaware of this entitlement, and we remain unaware of an episode of dissatisfaction, until review time . . if we're lucky. As an aside, we've found over the years that most of our guests PREFER minimal intrusion into their space, as a consequence of which, we hardly ever get requests for more frequent cleaning interventions, unless something spills, or the like. Occasionally, if there is very loud traffic noise might, some of it might be audible in a couple of the street-side rooms. We shall soon be upgrading the sound insulation in that area. Our apologies for any inconvenience you may have endured during your stay with us. We would relish the opportunity to welcome you back to the Inn any time you might be fortunate enough to find your way back to Trinidad. Warmest regards. Colin
