Back to the 80’s
Check in took 25 minutes even though I was second in the queue. The Room was tiny. Was awoken by a Laundry delivery vehicle inches from my window in the morning. Shocking hotel. Was waiting on a on Alan Partridge rocking up. On the plus side, wine in the bar was cheap....though I defo felt it when afore mentioned laundry vehicle made an entrance.

would not reccommend
Very nice personnel. That said; room was super cold in the night. Had to put all towels on me. Haridrier was not working and there were stains on the towels. Again, the personnel is very nice but the hotel is really not in good conditions.

Staff are excellent and helpful, but the room was terrible: no internet access, limited tv channels which didn't work as the screen kept splicing on all channels, bedside lamp and light switches didn't work.

Very grubby and low standard
Very dated and dirty, I stayed in an executive room and the curtains were not fitted properly, the shower leaked all over the floor and the bathroom was grubby and of a poor standard.

The room just needs a few items looked at . The reception staff seemed unfriendly. Saying that the room was extremely cheap so I guess you get what you pay for.

One to avoid
After paying for the better room it was disappointing to find a well used room which did feel worth paying extra for. The bed was rock hard and had really rough bottom sheets. The window was all dirty and after opening it I had to wash my hands.

Unfortunately the pool and spa were out of action when we went, the place is looking a bit tired but it’s clean and the price is good so we can’t complain. The staff were good and we got complimentary food and some things can’t be helped.

This hotel is very dated and in need of refurbishment. Staff were friendly and the breakfast was good. The linens on the bed were clean but the rest of the room was not very clean.

Filthy dirty place. Had to ask for 3 different rooms and still didn't feel safe. Smoking rooms available which surprised me I thought that would be illegal. I decided against opting for smoking room due to incredible reek of cannabis smoke on entering the corridor for smoking rooms. I was told by another guest not use use swimming pool as people had got worms. As a former resident of Cheshire returning to visit family I was appalled and ashamed to have my daughters and grandchildren come to meet me here. A total disgrace I will never stay in a Britannia hotel again.

On arrival the lad on reception was very abrupt and not very friendly . Paid extra for a nicer room as i wanted a more comfortable room.as had a knee op . Went to use the lift which was out of order so had to strughle up 2 flights of stsirs .when got in the room it was boling .the latch on the batroom door was hanging off . The wallpaper was coming off in parts lampshades were either missing or damaged . For a executive room you would expect a decebt size tv but it was no bigger than a computer screen which from the bed could hardly be seen . Went to the bar and grill place for something to eat the food was lovely as were the staff but when yhe average age of the customers on saturday night was 45 plus why would you have wrestling blasting out . We had a drink and food and went bavk to the oven of our room . All in all needs custoner service skills teaching to reception staff hotel needs updating

Smell was the 1st thing that hit you and was really dated and dirty in room used condoms outside window, springs popping out of bed actually couldn’t wait get home for nice bath. Million miles away from photos when booking!! shoutung going on all through night. Safe to say won’t be back there ever!!

Facilities were jaded and there were some items of tableware/cutlery in the corridors and outside our room. The leisure facilities were disappointing as the spa pool was out of action when we visited and the steam room was a little smelly.

Run down, horrible and smelly room. AVOID!!
Ok, so. It looks nice and set in a nice place..Reception is nice and the staff were ok. But... it was the hotel and the room that was just sooo bad. The place is sooooooo run down. All the carpets in the hallways worn and rippled due to wear. The doors are all old and battered. The rooms and directions of where to go are complex. When in the room, the first thing thing that hit was the smell of cat wee from the bathroom.. Looks like it should be a real.nice hotel and spa, but run down, horrible hotel.. I'm glad i only wasted £34... Would I stay again. ??. No way....!!

The bedding was clean and white. The towels were clean but small and thin. It was ok clean but it was tho everywhere needed a spruce up. The corridor and room smelt musty someone sprayed perfume. It’s such a shame to see such a lovely hotel go down. The pillows were stones of the beach we think. The steadfast were perfectly fine and pleasant.

The reception staff were ok, reasonably helpful. The spa was closed due to lack of staff but did open early evening, disappointing as we’d arrived mid afternoon to make full use of the facility. The room was adequate , shabby best describes the decor, the bathroom although clean could do with a deep clean and refresh. Breakfast was good, though they could do with the toaster not setting the fire alarm off and us having to evacuate whilst eating. Overall the staff were good the whole place needs investment

NO HOT WATER
No hot water on arrival, assured it would be back on for morning - it was not, minimal water came out at all and so I had to have a freezing body wash and not wash my hair instead of a relaxing hot shower. On checking out the member of staff wasn’t really bothered, blamed the plumber for ordering wrong part for wrong boiler but I’d heard the night before that the first floor had hot water. No remote for the tv, one was eventually found after asking. Nearly ended up with 2 roll away beds despite telling front desk we already had one when I went down to ask about remote. Fire alarm at 8am Sunday morning- no staff around, my son and I went down to front desk from 3rd floor (hitting last leg of stairs as alarm stopped) asked at front desk whether ok to go back to room or if we needed to go outside etc and was told grumpily it was nothing. If all you need is a bed it would do but don’t expect to leave comfortable or clean
