What you can expect

Experience a Gaelic Games session at a local Gaelic club called “Liam Mellows”, located a 10-minute bus journey from the city centre. The modern facility includes a dedicated visitor centre, with one public bus route (number 402) stopping close by the club.

Sessions start with an introduction to what are known locally as “Gaelic Games”. This includes the history of the games, their revered place to life in Ireland, and how the games are structured/played. You’ll see video clips and the Irish passion for GAA, and will generally just have the “craic”.

Following the engaging introduction, you will head out to the astro pitch where you'll partake in gentle team-building activities of Gaelic football, hurling, and handball. Your trainers for the day will be great; being passionate about their beloved games and really interacting with visitors. Depending on your group, you most likely play some mini-matches, all in good fun.
