Know before you book

  • Children 7 and younger are not allowed.
  • Children 8–18 years old must be accompanied by a paying adult. Those under 12 must hold the adult's hand at all times.

What you can expect

Head inside a 14th-century bell tower whose most attractive quality is also its biggest blunder. Climb up the narrow staircase that leads to the top of the Leaning Tower of Pisa and grab sweeping views of the town and cathedral below.

Head straight to the entrance with your ticket. Drop off your bags at the bottom and grab your camera, ready for the steep climb up narrow stairs to reach the tower's terrace, 183 feet (55 m) above the ground. Snap photos from your bird's-eye perspective and imagine the work of desperate engineers who have tried correct the tower's bad posture since construction began in 1173.

Back at the bottom, spend some time dreaming up creative poses for memorable photos that capitalise on tower's casual stance and then consider stopping in at the nearby cathedral for up-close looks at breathtaking frescoes and ornate Romanesque architecture.
