Overview

If you loved Harry Potter, then you want a tour of JK Rowling’s home to be as unforgettable as reading the books for the first time. You want to fill that crushing emptiness closing the Deathly Hallows left. You have one chance to make it good & you want the best.

「 I wrote this tour for you 」

» All the inspirations for Harry Potter in Edinburgh & much of the rest of the world too.
» Rowling’s life living across Europe & how this impacted the books.
» What we can learn from how Rowling overcame hardship.
» How do you write like JK Rowling? Lots & lots of practice & a little reflection mostly, but you could come on this tour anyway & I'll attempt to illuminate an inch further.
» Lunch in a Harry Potter cafe with practicals: Divination, Charms, Potter games; quill writing or song-smithing.
① ticket passages a group of up to 6 Potterheads & squibs.

It’s been popular amongst generous parents seeking an entirely forgettable rite of passage; passionate fans & teachers, for thoroughness.

Activity itinerary

Duke of Wellington
  • 10m
  • Admission ticket included
My preferred start point, is opposite the Balmoral Hotel, with its big clock tower, betwixt the Apple store & the statue of the Duke of Wellington on his beloved horse Copenhagen
Edinburgh Old Town
  • 6h 25m
An 8-hour tour of locations connected to JK Rowling & the writing of her beloved Harry Potter. Harry's saga is more than a million words & has sold more than ½ billion books. You don't need an 8-hour 'Harry Potter tour', but Harry deserves it.
The Elephant House
  • 40m
  • Admission ticket not included
Late lunch! If it's open. Around £15 per person will be required. If it's closed we'll go elsewhere. This is optional, the tour can be done without lunch, you could bring a packed lunch or buy sandwiches en-route to eat on the go. But this would omit the seated lunch activities.
Greyfriars Kirkyard
  • 45m
Part of Edinburgh's world heritage site and Edinburgh's most visited cemetery, I wonder why?
