This house is very nice and in a good location. However, the description on VRBO is not accurate so check with the host (although I had difficulty reaching anyone) if you have concerns. The amenities are fine but not great.
My family and I (and our furry friends) thoroughly enjoyed this cozy mountain getaway. The kids took over the upstairs and the basement will we enjoyed the main level. The location was close to several hikes and a short drive to Breck. Two things to note, they could use an outdoor patio set to enjoy the summertime and the BBQ grill wasn’t available (stuff happens) but a note ahead of time would have been nice. Overall, very happy with the place and would stay here again!
First off let me say that the location was superb and so convenient. However, we did run into some issues with the house. First off when you turn the stove on the overwhelming smell of gas quickly fills the room, then we have to mention the fact that we found a pair of used women's underwear in the couch. We were pretty grossed out and tried to wash the sheets and towls but the washer was leaking so bad we couldnt do any laundry. on the last night we were in the hot tub and about 30 min. In we were surrounded by the overwhelming smell of gas again so we cut our night short and went to bed. I did speak to the property manager and he refunded the cleaning fee so guess thats okay but overall we were a bit disappointed in the stay.

Ski Trip Stay
My husband and I stayed in this cabin with our three dogs. The location of the home and its proximity to the ski resort was great. The kitchen had most of the supplies we needed to cook during our stay. If you’re traveling with a family, you would probably enjoy the two separate living areas, especially if traveling with older kids. The bottom level has its own living area with TV. There’s a full bathroom on the bottom level as well. 2nd floor has the kitchen, living area, full bathroom, and a bedroom. The rest of the bedrooms and another bathroom are upstairs.
This cabin sits right off of Highway 9, which is a relatively busy highway since it’s the only road that leads in and out of Breckenridge. Traffic is pretty loud if you’re outside as plenty of cars were driving by during our stay (we stayed during the resort’s opening weekend), but it is not noticeable while inside the cabin.
Bring your own blankets for the living room areas - there are zero throw blankets, quilts, etc. in the cabin. We improvised and took one of the comforters off the beds upstairs to use as a blanket when hanging out on the sofa.
I left feedback for Vacasa regarding their cleaning service. Overall, the cabin was fine, but we found candy and even someone’s blood pressure pill on the floor near the edge of the bed. I’m glad I found it before my dogs did.
Our family enjoyed our stay very much. The home was very comfortable & had everything we needed to feel at home. The area was quiet and easy to access the lifts for snowboarding. The hot tub was perfect after a long day in the cold!
We had a good stay overall. The house was comfortable, in a great location, and check-in was easy. The place was mostly clean and matched the listing, and the host’s communication was good. A few small details could be improved to make the experience even better (minor maintenance and some extra cleaning like the under the bed was really dirty I had to check because I have a 4mo baby), but nothing that ruined our stay. I would recommend it and would consider staying again.
House was close to the slopes, Town of Breckenridge , shops & restaurants.
The house had generous space for the family to relax + the hot tub was a treat
Easy to get to all things Breckenridge, comfortable stay.

Cozy stay
Thrilled to have found such a lovely home to stay in for a last-minute mountain getaway. The giant dining room table was perfect for family meals and game time. It was wonderful being able to relax and stay warm by the fireplace. We appreciated all of the winter amenities including mudrooms for snowy gear, and multiple well-plowed parking spots. The whole family (including the 4-legged ones) really enjoyed our stay, and would absolutely return. It would also be a great summer getaway! Close to many great trails, and downtown Breckenridge!

Bring your own bedding
Never stayed at a rental that did not provide bedding for sleeper sofa. Tried to contact someone for sheets and blankets, but was told they do not provide that.🤷♀️

Needs Maintenance
We found this property littered with trash, broken deck chairs, and overall not very clean.
There were 5 missing window screens for the bedrooms and kitchen, which made the house extremely hot in the summer. The hot tub was missing 3 neck pillows, the deck chairs were broken and cigarette butts littered in the yard. The house beds are all very hard and not comfortable. The pans are all scratched and not in good condition. There are also no fans in the house except again, a broken one. Lots of broken things throughout the property.
Overall, we felt this place needs some maintenance and repairs.

Disappointing
I hate leaving negative reviews but hopefully an honest review will help others considering this property.
For starters, when we flipped one of the comforters around we found blood all over the backside. No one from our group had been bleeding and when we sprayed it with cleaner the blood turned orange like the comforter hadn't been washed at all.
It doesn't seem like whoever runs this property has actually stayed here. The mattresses are all so uncomfortable my parents rented a separate place to stay in so they could get some sleep. There weren't enough towels for eight people. There wasn't enough room for our family (8 people) to sit together in the living room. Multiple outlets don't work. Neither of the coffee makers work.
My sister called the property management company and they brought more towels and a new coffee maker. However, they never responded to my message when I sent them a photo of the bloody comforter and listed other concerns.
My family drove nine hours to stay here and we all couldn't wait to leave. Not how you want to spend a family vacation.
To end on a positive note: The cabin had a lot of space, the location is great and the hot tub was nice. They also sent a crew to clear the deck and stairs of snow.

Cozy Cabin
We absolutely loved our stay at The Gingerbreck House! Cozy, comfortable, gorgeous setting amidst Aspens & pines. We enjoyed seeing the wildlife pass by from the great deck! Convenient to Breckenridge and many trailheads as well. This is a gem of a house!
