Yangshuo West Street has a thousand-year history dating back 1,400 years, like an old man who has witnessed the changes over time. This street, only 800 metres long, has witnessed the evolution of the city of Guilin. Its history dates back to the Yuan dynasty, reaching its peak during the Ming and Qing dynasties. However, waves of wall demolition and street renovations have led to this ancient street gradually losing its former splendour. After the opening and renovation, West Street gained new life, attracting a large number of foreign tourists and becoming a symbol of the cultural fusion between East and West, known as "Guilin’s Foreigner Street".
