Some of the first objects that were put in the museum were found in 1929 by a farmer while digging a well. In the process, the farmer unearthed a large stash containing jade relics. Then, in 1986, several workers discovered sacrificial pits where they found pottery artefacts, bronze, gold, and jade which were completely unknown in the history of Chinese art.
The artefacts that were unearthed in 1986, have convinced researchers that Sanxingdui was Shu Kingdom’s capital back more than 3,000 years ago. Among the artefacts collected, the bronze proved to be the most precious due to their scientific, historical, and artistic value.
