What you can expect

This day trip takes you through beautiful Perthshire for a stop at Aviemore, the outdoor capital of Scotland, where you will get the opportunity to wander around the ancient Caledonian Forest to take in the beauty of Loch Morlich. From here we will travel on to Drumnadrochit, stopping at Urquhart Castle on the banks of Loch Lomond. Explore the castle and keep an eye out for Nessie. In Drumnadrochit you will get the opportunity of having a tour of the Loch Ness visitor centre to find out all about the myths and legends surrounding the Loch Ness monster. Lunch in a local cafe in Drumnadrochit.

We will then head through the Great Glen following Loch Ness until it meets the Caledonian Canal where we will stop at Fort Augustus for short break in this pretty canal town. From there we will head towards Fort William for a sight of Ben Nevis before heading through Glen Coe where there will be lots of photo opportunities in these magestic and mystical mountains.

Finally, we will drive through Stirlingshire and have an evening visit to the see the Kelpies, lit up in all their splendour, before heading back to your accommodation.

You will be picked up and dropped off at your hotel and routes from Glasgow will be done in reverse of the above description.

The two day trip will include a woodland walk to the Hermitage waterfall, a visit to Culloden Battlefield and Clava Cairns standing stones in Inverness followed by an evening meal in the city and an overnight in a comfortable bed and breakfast. On day two we will take a detour to the Glenfinnan viaduct as we pass through Fort William.
