Fly from Addis to Lalibela. Start visiting the first group of Lalibela Churches which are located north of a small stream named Jordan River. These Churches were carved during the time of King Lalibela (1181 – 1221) and are registered by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Day 02: Fly Back to Addis Ababa Early in the morning visit Neakuto Leab church Lying 7 km from Lalibela, just off the airport road, is this simple but attractive church. It’s attributed to King Lalibela’s successor and shelters in a natural cave. Some very old stone receptacles collect the precious holy water that drips from the cave roof. Then fly back from Lalibela to Addis Ababa.
