This getaway suits travellers who enjoy simple island living, beach time and a less familiar route through San Blas. Your cabin is private, while bathrooms and showers are shared.
Day 1: Arrive on Miryadup Island
Your adventure begins at Cartí port, where a shared motorboat takes you to Miryadup. Watch the coastline give way to palm-covered islands and Caribbean water as you travel towards your overnight retreat.
Panama City hotel transport is available as an optional add-on. If selected, be ready in your hotel lobby at 5:00 AM for shared pickup between approximately 5:00 and 5:45 AM. The drive to Cartí takes around 2.5–3 hours along winding mountain roads.
On arrival, settle into your private beach cabin and enjoy lunch. Spend the afternoon swimming, exploring the shoreline or relaxing beneath the palms. Snorkel around the island when water conditions permit.
Your Guna hosts manage the accommodation and island services. Some may be reserved at first, but a friendly, respectful approach can open opportunities to learn about daily island life.
Enjoy dinner before settling in for a night by the sea.
DAY 2: CAMBOMBIA ISLAND EXCURSION
Start your morning with breakfast and time to enjoy Miryadup before the included boat excursion to Cambombia Island.
Explore the beach, swim in the Caribbean or find a shaded spot beneath the palms. A mask and snorkel are provided during the boat tour, with snorkelling dependant on sea conditions.
Lunch is included on your second day. Meals are simple island dishes, often featuring fish or chicken with rice, plantains or salad. Choices depend on available ingredients. Request dietary arrangements before travel. Drinks and optional meal upgrades cost extra.
Around 3:00 PM, begin the boat journey back to Cartí. If you selected the transport add-on, continue by shared vehicle to Panama City. Return times depend on road and sea conditions.
YOUR ISLAND STAY
The package includes one night in a private cabin, shared bathrooms, return boat transfers from Cartí, island taxes, meals and the Cambombia excursion.
Facilities are basic. Electricity is generally available from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM. Cabins have lighting but no electrical sockets; phones can be charged in the main house.
Bring your original passport, towel, toiletries, sun protection and cash. The Guna Yala entrance fee is excluded: $22 for international visitors or $7 for Panamanian residents.
Boat rides may be bumpy and wet. Excursion timing and stop order may change with weather and local operations. A remote setting does not guarantee empty beaches.
