Experience the Serengeti National Park, Tanzania’s oldest and most popular national park, on a 3-day safari. See the annual migration where some six million hooves pound the open plains, and enjoy game drives to see the park's wildlife.
Day 1: Arusha – Central Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, choose to be picked up and driven to Arusha airport or fly from Zanzibar Airport or Dar es Salaam Airport for a flight to Central Serengeti. After arrival, proceed with a game drive in the Serengeti wilderness area.
Alternatively, travel to Serengeti on a road near the rim of Ngorongoro Crater, allowing for animal sightings along the way. The golden savannah and endless plains, teeming with zebras, wildebeest, and giraffes make it easy to understand why the Serengeti is one of the Seven Natural Wonders of Africa.
After the game drive, be transferred to the lodge for dinner and overnight at Serengeti Serena Lodge.
Day 2: Central Serengeti
Spend two full days in Serengeti National Park mostly exploring the wildlife. Serengeti National Park’s resident wildlife numbers are exceptionally high in the Wagakuria area, with a pride of lions up to 30 strong. However, from July to October, the area turns into a wildlife paradise. The key feature is the Mara River, and it is not uncommon to see the herds cross the Mara River north on one day and then back south a few days later. Please note that finding a crossing is very difficult and sometimes a matter of luck.
Later, continue to Serengeti Serena Lodge and campsite for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Serengeti Central – Drive to Arusha or take a flight at Seronera Airstrip to Arusha/Zanzibar/Dar es Salaam Airport
After an early breakfast, check out of the lodge with a packed picnic lunch and depart for a last game viewing on your way out of Serengeti. In the late afternoon, drive to Arusha for your onward flight. Alternatively, continue to your booked hotel for an overnight stay at Arusha.
