Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park
After an early breakfast, depart to Tarangire for a full-day game drive in Tarangire National Park with a picnic lunch. Herds of up to 300 elephants scrape the waterless riverbed for alternative streams, while nomadic wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, impala, gazelle, hartebeest, and eland mass the decreased lagoons. This national park holds migrants during the dry season and is a welcoming home to elephants. We have dinner and our overnight stay at Fanaka Campsite.
Day 2: Tarangire to Ngorongoro Crater
After an early breakfast, with your picnic lunch packed, you will drive to the majestic Ngorongoro Crater, one of Africa’s natural wonders and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Upon arrival, descend into the Crater floor for a full-day game drive in this extraordinary caldera. Ngorongoro is one of the best places to spot Africa’s Big Five—lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and the rare black rhino—all within a single day. The crater is also home to large populations of zebra, wildebeest, hippo, hyena, and more. Bird lovers will enjoy sightings of flamingos along the soft drink lake, as well as geese, storks, vultures, and many other species. After a full day of wildlife viewing, you’ll ascend the crater and drive back to your Fanaka camp for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater - Lake Manyara National Park
After breakfast, depart for Lake Manyara National Park, a gem nestled at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. Upon arrival, enjoy a game drive through the park’s diverse ecosystems, ranging from lush groundwater forests to open grassy plains and the shimmering lake itself. Lake Manyara is renowned for its large flocks of flamingos, rich birdlife, and the famous tree-climbing lions. As you explore, keep an eye out for elephants, hippos, baboons, and a variety of antelope species. Enjoy a picnic lunch within the park while taking in the breathtaking scenery. After your game drive, you will transferring back to Arusha town or directly to the airport for your onward journey.
