What you can expect

Embark on an exclusive 3-day 4x4 safari through Australia’s Top End, uncovering the dramatic landscapes and deep cultural roots of Kakadu and Litchfield National Parks. This immersive adventure brings you face-to-face with ancient rock art, cascading waterfalls, and the vibrant ecosystems of the Northern Territory.

Begin your journey from Darwin, heading to the Mary River Wetlands. Cruise through the Corroboree Billabong, a haven for birdlife and home to the mighty saltwater crocodile. Then continue into Kakadu National Park, stopping at the Bowali Visitor Centre for an overview of the park’s biodiversity and cultural heritage.

Later in the day, visit Cahills Crossing, a notorious site for crocodile spotting, before arriving at Ubirr Rock. Here, you’ll explore one of the most significant Aboriginal rock art sites in the world. Climb to the lookout for sweeping sunset views over the Nadab Floodplain. Your evening concludes at a private campsite where you’ll enjoy a hearty dinner and sleep in either permanent safari tents or traditional swags under the stars.

On the second day, rise early and venture further south through Kakadu. You’ll explore the park’s remarkable waterfalls and plunge pools, accessed via scenic hikes through monsoon rainforest. Depending on accessibility and group preferences, you may visit Motor Car Falls, Maguk (Barramundi Gorge), Moline Rockhole, or Jim Jim Falls. These tranquil, remote spots offer a refreshing swim surrounded by steep escarpments and ancient rock formations.

Time permitting, stop at Burrungkuy (Nourlangie Rock), another powerful Aboriginal cultural site, to view rock art that dates back tens of thousands of years. After a full day of hiking, swimming, and discovery, return to camp for a well-earned dinner and a night of storytelling beneath the stars.

The final day of your adventure takes you to Litchfield National Park, a natural oasis known for its waterfalls, termite mounds, and rock pools. Spend the afternoon exploring and cooling off at one or more of the park’s popular sites—such as Buley Rockholes, Florence Falls, or Wangi Falls. On your way back to Darwin, marvel at the towering Magnetic and Cathedral Termite Mounds, unique to the region.

With a blend of cultural immersion, adventure, and relaxation, this small-group safari offers an authentic and unforgettable way to experience the Top End.
