Day 1: Isle of Monkeys

Madre de Dios Region

  • 2h
Reception at the airport or bus station and transfer to the Monte Amazónico Lodge office for relevant information about the tour. Transfer to the port where we will take the boat for one hour to our hostel. Welcome meeting with a refreshing fruit juice from our region. Installation in our respective rooms.

Isla de los monos

  • 2h
After lunch, we will visit the “Island of Monkeys”, located in front of our hostel across the Mother of God River, in this place there are different species of monkeys, such as brown cappuccino, squirrel monkey, marmoset monkey and white cappuccino, all of them on the island after the activity we will return to the hostel.

Rio Madre De Dios

At night we go to find alligators, they are usually on the banks of the Mother of God River, this time you will need to bring a torch. Hopefully we can see the carpincho the largest rodent in the world that can weigh 60 kilos impressive Peruvian Cuy family; return to the hostel, dinner and night in the hostel.

Day 2: tambopata national reserve

Lago Sandoval

After early breakfast we will take a short boat ride to the entrance of Lake Sandoval, then walk 3 kilometres (2 miles approx.) to Lake Sandoval (piranha habitat), after the pleasant hike, the guide will climb a rowing boat where we will have our navigation on the lake to appreciate different species of birds, monkeys, giant otters, alligators, etc. Return to the hostel to enjoy lunch. .

Then we have the canopy Walk-Way, about 30 metres high, the bridges will allow us to appreciate nature.

Day 3: Collpa of Parrots

Puerto Maldonado

  • 4h
The third day very early in the morning we will take the boat to visit the Collpa de parrotes, where the different species of parrots go down to eat this special and indispensable clay necessary for their metabolism. Breakfast and return to the city.
