The Unfinished Obelisk is a massive, abandoned ancient Egyptian obelisk, still attached to the bedrock in a granite quarry in Aswan, Egypt. Commissioned likely by Queen Hatshepsut (c. 1473–1458 BC), it would have been the tallest (42 metres) and heaviest (nearly 1,200 tonnes) obelisk ever built, but was abandoned due to structural cracks, offering a glimpse into ancient carving techniques.
