To begin your comfortable journey to Yogyakarta, we first need to travel to Gambir Station in Central Jakarta. Gambir is the main station for executive-class trains heading to major cities in Java. We will board one of the comfortable long-distance trains, which offer a relaxing and scenic way to travel. These trains typically feature air-conditioned carriages, reclining seats. The train trip to Yogyakarta is a popular choice, as it provides a smooth alternative to flying or driving, allowing us to enjoy the beautiful Javanese countryside views along the way.

Borobudur Temple

When travellers visit Borobudur, they will climb the massive structure, which is the world’s largest Buddhist temple. As they ascend through nine tiered platforms, they will walk along corridors adorned with over 2,672 detailed relief panels depicting Buddhist cosmology and stories. On the three upper circular terraces, visitors can admire the 72 bell-shaped stupas, each housing a statue of the Buddha. They will typically walk clockwise (performing pradakshina) and enjoy the breathtaking panoramic view of the surrounding mountains and lush landscape, often catching a spectacular sunrise or sunset.

Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park

The main goal is to witness the spectacular "blue fire", a natural phenomenon caused by burning sulfuric gases. After reaching the crater rim, adventurers often descend into the crater floor to get a closer look at the electric blue flames flickering near the sulphur mining area. They will see the local sulphur miners at work. As dawn breaks, they ascend to the rim to admire the huge, turquoise acidic lake and the stunning, otherworldly landscape before beginning the descent.

Banyuwangi

Travellers heading to Bali from Java typically board a ferry at Ketapang Port in Banyuwangi. The short sea crossing takes approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour and lands at Gilimanuk Port in West Bali. The ferry ride itself is a simple, no-frills experience. You will likely see vehicles (cars, buses, and motorbikes) loading onto the lower deck alongside foot passengers. Once onboard, you can find a seat, often in an enclosed area or occasionally on an open deck to feel the sea breeze. You will enjoy the view of the surrounding islands and the transition from the mountainous coast of Java to the green shores of Bali.
