The Forbidden City is a palace complex in central Beijing, China. It houses the Palace Museum, and was the former Chinese imperial palace from the Ming dynasty to the end of the Qing dynasty (the years 1420 to 1912). The Forbidden City served as the home of emperors and their households and was the ceremonial and political centre of Chinese government for almost 500 years. Constructed from 1406 to 1420, the complex consists of 980 buildings and covers 72 hectares (over 180 acres). The palace exemplifies traditional Chinese palatial architecture, and has influenced cultural and architectural developments in East Asia and elsewhere. The Forbidden City was declared a World Heritage Site in 1987, and is listed by UNESCO as the largest collection of preserved ancient wooden structures in the world. The guest will visit the Forbidden City, where emperors ruled, concubines fluttered their fans, and eunuchs schemed for five hundred years.

The Temple of Heaven is located in southern Beijing and was first constructed in 1420. It was the place where the emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties would worship the god of heaven and pray for good harvest. Covering an area of 273 hectares, it is the largest architectural complex in the world for rituals to pay homage to heaven. The structure of the Temple of Heaven is like that of the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests. Three Echo Stones is outside of the gate of Imperial Heavenly Vault. If you speak facing the vault while standing on the first stone, you will hear one echo; standing on the second and the third stone, you will hear two and three echoes respectively. Another site-of-interest is called Echo Wall. Its perimeter is 193 metres. If you and your friend stand at the east and the west roots of the wall respectively and you whisper a word, then your friend will hear clearly what you say. This phenomenon utilises the theory of sound wave.

The Summer Palace is said to be the best-preserved imperial garden in the world, and the largest of its kind still in existence in China. Most people find they need to spend at least half a day there, as there’s so much to see and enjoy. The Summer Palace was listed as World Heritage in 1998. UNESCO reported that the Summer Palace is "a masterpiece of Chinese landscape garden design”. This wonderful garden was initially built in 1750, severely damaged in the smoke and fire of war in 1860, and renovated on the original site in 1886. Artificial landscapes such as pavilions, halls, corridors, temples and small bridges all live side by side in harmony with the nearby hills and the vast lake to form a harmonious ensemble of outstanding aesthetic value. It undoubtedly deserves its reputation as a masterpiece of Chinese landscape garden design.The Summer Palace is known as the ‘Imperial Garden Museum’ in China as its purpose now is the preservation of national heritage material.

The Lama Temple, located in the northeast corner of city centre Beijing. Because two emperors, including Emperor Yongzhen and Qianlong of Qing Dynasty, were born here, the Lama Temple became known as a "dragon's hidden blessing place", featuring yellow tiles and red walls similar to the Forbidden City. Comprising three exquisite archways and five grand halls, the Lama Temple is the highest-ranked Buddhist temple in China during the mid to late Qing Dynasty. The architecture of the Lama Temple is stunning, representing the pinnacle of Oriental aesthetics. It is also the most thriving temple in Beijing. Visitors can pray for academic and career success, as well as for blessings related to marriage and health. The hutongs are quite simply what differentiates Beijing from other Chinese cities. One could spend hours wandering these narrow tree-lined lanes, getting lost, meeting people, finding artsy cafes and boutiques. As elder locals sit outside their hutong homes playing Mahjong, or entertaining their grandchildren. All around, bells are ringing as people of all ages zoom by on bicycles, interweaving their routes with delivery drivers on electric motorbikes. A lady on the street corner cooks ‘jian bing’, a kind of savoury Chinese crepe, as ethnic Xinjiang people grill ‘chuan’ lamb skewers over hot coals, all producing clouds of delicious aromas of spice that permeate the city air. Around the corner, duck is roasted over applewood, using a method passed down over many generations, and served up in a way that the Peking Duck melts in your mouth.

Shichahai Park consists of three water areas—Qianhai, Houhai, and Xihai (also known as Jishuitan) and their adjacent areas, collectively known as the "Hou Sanhai." It is renowned as one of the most beautiful places in old Beijing. Historically, Shichahai was home to numerous temples, earning it the nickname "Ten Temples by the Lakes." The area is characterised by typical hutongs and traditional courtyards, shaded by lush trees and intersected by winding paths. It is a popular destination for local residents to enjoy boating in summer and ice skating in winter.
