What you can expect

  • Get a welcome to Adelaide from a born-and-raised local in this must-do experience from award winner Flamboyance Tours (Cultural Tourism, 2025 South Australian Tourism Awards).

This walking tour provides an orientation of Adelaide's high streets and key landmarks through the eyes of local guides who grew up around the city. In a breezy 90 minutes, find out why Adelaide was known as the City of Churches under a free settlement, and understand how it came to be a food and wine capital today.

Begin at the Mall's Balls, Adelaide's most famous sculpture and famed meeting point, before continuing through Rundle Mall and Adelaide Arcade to marvel at varied architecture and public art. Stop by important historical locations including Parliament House and Town Hall, and enjoy discovering the city's quirks, before finishing outside the famous Adelaide Central Market – an essential Adelaide experience.

Stories of Adelaide's progression and its effect on locals are woven in between the landmarks. Gain knowledge of the past, present and what fell in between to appreciate the depth of Adelaide's evolution into a thriving modern capital.

Get recommendations along the way, along with the option to buy a $5 medium coffee, and receive an exclusive discount for opals.

If there is only one person booked, we have the right to reschedule or cancel the tour.
The Central Market is not always open when we finish there; check their hours to plan accordingly.
*For a longer experience, consider the Iconic Adelaide Walking Tour - our 3-hour exploration of the city centre (not listed on this site).
