What you can expect

  • “Mission Aigues-Mortes” is a private guided visit designed for families, where children are not just spectators: they lead the investigation!

Their mission? To discover numbers that have been hidden in the city for 800 years. To do this, they will have to observe, count, search, solve riddles… and look up from their phones!

The tour is held only with your family, so that each child can fully benefit from the live guide's attention and experience their own adventure.

The route starts at the Porte de la Gardette, runs along the Tour de Constance and the ramparts, reveals the signs engraved in the stone by the stonemasons of the Middle Ages, and continues around the salt pans where the flamingos feed (did you know they are born grey?) before returning to Place Saint Louis at the foot of the statue of the King.

Your live guide, Dimitri Moulins, father of a 10-year-old child, is the author of two books on the secrets of Aigues-Mortes and two activity and adventure books for children.

He speaks to children with lively and humorous stories, without ever forgetting the parents or teenagers who also discover a host of surprising things.

Each child leaves with their “Le Défi des Remparts” adventure booklet to keep, along with their crayons! And the adventure even continues at home, at the hotel, at the campground, or at the restaurant: other puzzles and the final decoding of the King's Code await the family upon drop-off.

The little ones aren't left out. Even if they participate for free, they leave with the activity booklet “Le Petit Gardien d'Aigues-Mortes” and their small box of crayons.

Teens also receive their souvenir book from the guide-author.

Please note: Tour in French, on foot, outdoors (streets of the city and around the ramparts). Duration: 1 hour - 1 hour 30 minutes, depending on the pace. Start: Porte de la Gardette. Drop-off: Place Saint Louis. From 6 years old. Children under 6 years old travel free of charge.
