This huge yellow building, which you're now walking along, is Fesch High School. In 1805, an imperial decree ceded this former Jesuit house to the city, which then converted it into a college.

Place de Gaulle (Pass by)

You are on the immense General de Gaulle square, delimiting the old town of the new districts of Ajaccio. The one that was called Place d’Arms at the time when the military used it for training is now commonly called Place Diamant.

Préfecture de Corse - Prifettura di Corsica (Pass by)

This beautiful yellow neoclassical building that you see in the middle of its tropical garden is the headquarters of the Prefecture of Corsica. Its construction was authorised by royal decree in 1822 and completed in 1830.
