Ryuhizaki Cape
Located at the northernmost tip of Tsugaru Peninsula, it is also known as Cape of Wind. Surrounded by the sea on three sides, you can overlook Hokkaido on clear days. It features a famous historic lighthouse ranked among Japan’s top 50 lighthouses, unique step national highway and song monuments playing classic local ballads. It is a perfect spot to enjoy vast sea views and refreshing sea breeze.
Roadside Station Kodomari
A popular roadside rest area along the main highway. Visitors can taste fresh local seafood meals, Aomori apple desserts and buy regional specialities such as handmade fish cakes and wild honey. It is an ideal place for lunch and short rest during the trip.
Takayama Inari Shrine
A well-known photo-famous shrine famous for countless vermilion torii gates winding up the hillside, comparable to Fushimi Inari Shrine in Kyoto. The layered red torii gates match beautiful natural scenery all year round, creating stunning views. People come here to pray for good harvest and good fortune.
Tsurunomai Bridge
Japan’s longest three-span wooden drum bridge stretching over Lake Tsugaru Fujimi. Built with high-quality local cypress wood, its elegant shape looks like dancing cranes. The bridge pairs perfectly with Mount Iwaki known as Tsugaru Fuji, presenting breathtaking scenery especially at sunset. It is a famous scenic landmark in Aomori.
