We will enjoy sitting on the second floor of the Mirabus to have a better view of all the tourist attractions in the city of Arequipa. We can get off the bus at the following points: The first point will be the Yanahuara District, where we can take photos at the famous Portales de Yanahuara with the Misti Volcano in the background. We will also visit the church of this traditional district, the “Iglesia San Juan Bautista.” Here, they sell the traditional queso helado, which is a typical Arequipa dessert. Its unique flavour is a must-try.
Then we head to the second stop, which will be the Carmen Alto vantage point. There, you can see the terraces of the district and also the three volcanoes that we have in Arequipa: the Misti, Chachani, and Pichu Pichu. Next, we'll move on to the third stop, the Incalpaca Mini-Zoo. Admission is free, and we'll be able to see the four South American camelids (llama, alpaca, vicuña, and guanaco).
Our next, fourth stop is the Mansion del Fundador. It's a colonial mansion, now a museum, that houses important relics from the history of the city of Arequipa. Admission is optional but recommended given the rich history it houses. Finally, we will visit the fifth stop, which will be the Sabandia Mill, inside which the water mill is still in operation. Admission is optional. If you want to stay outside, you can find optional activities such as horseback riding or an quad bike ride. We will then return to the town centre of Arequipa, arriving in approximately 45 minutes.
