Travel through the beautiful Bay of Plenty countryside before arriving in New Zealand's geothermal capital, where steaming landscapes, Māori traditions, and relaxing hot springs create an unforgettable experience.

Your first stop is Te Puia, one of Rotorua's most iconic attractions. Explore the spectacular geothermal valley, home to the famous Pōhutu Geyser, the largest active geyser in the Southern Hemisphere. Wander past bubbling mud pools, steaming vents, and colourful mineral terraces while learning about the region's unique volcanic landscape. Visit the Kiwi House for a rare opportunity to see New Zealand's national bird, then discover traditional Māori carving and weaving at the New Zealand Māori Arts & Crafts Institute, where skilled artisans continue centuries-old cultural traditions.

After your visit, enjoy free time for lunch (at your own expense) at one of Rotorua's popular cafés or restaurants. Choose from lakeside dining, local cafés, or restaurants overlooking the geothermal park.

In the afternoon, unwind at the world-renowned Polynesian Spa, famous for its natural geothermal mineral pools overlooking beautiful Lake Rotorua. Soak in soothing alkaline and sulphur-rich waters known for helping relax tired muscles and rejuvenate the body after a morning of sightseeing.

Continue to Skyline Rotorua, where you may choose to ride the scenic gondola to the summit (optional, at your own expense). Take in panoramic views across Rotorua, its sparkling lake, and the surrounding volcanic landscape. Enjoy free time to browse the gift shops, relax with a coffee, or capture unforgettable photos from one of the region's best viewpoints.

After a wonderful day exploring Rotorua's geothermal wonders, Māori culture, and relaxing spa experience, sit back and enjoy the comfortable drive back to Tauranga.
