Overview

Join a local walking tour in Bizen, Okayama—home to Bizen ware, one of Japan’s Six Ancient Kilns. Your guide is the wife of a local potter, offering an insider perspective on the town.

In the quiet pottery town of Imbe, you’ll walk through historic streets with traditional kilns and old houses. We’ll visit key spots such as kiln ruins and Amatsu Shrine, long connected to Bizen potters.

If you’re interested, you may also have the opportunity to casually learn from a working potter (additional fee applies).

The tour is based in Imbe but can be customised. If travelling by car, we can extend to Hinase (oysters, seasonal) or coastal areas like Ushimado.

We take breaks and keep a comfortable pace, suitable for all.

Your guide is a licensed taxi driver with guiding experience in Tokyo.
