Place de l'Horloge (Pass by)

The heart of the city, a square that has been around for thousands of years and still, to this day, is the gathering place for most tourists. On this square, you’ll find restaurants and shops, as well as Avignon’s city hall and various other notable buildings.

Opera Theatre d'Avignon (Pass by)

Also found on Place de l’Horloge, the opera is an architectural gem that first opened doors in 1825. Musee Calvet (Pass by)

The official museum for Fine Arts in Avignon houses an extensive collection of paintings, sculptures and artefacts, ranging from the 15th century to the 20th century. The building and the collection combined form one of the most poetic and history drenched places in Avignon.

Remparts d'Avignon (Pass by)

The walls around the city, dating back to the 14th century, were once built to protect eh city form attacks and floods from the Rhone River. Construction went quickly, to make sure the city was safe. Nowadays, the city doesn’t need the walls for protection, so they form part of the décor of Avignon.
