Discover the Hidden History of Ayutthaya by Bike with a Licensed Local Guide
Go beyond the famous landmarks and discover the hidden history of Ayutthaya on this unique bike tour led by a licensed Thai tour guide with local knowledge. Designed for curious travellers and history enthusiasts, this educational experience explores the ancient capital through its temples, archaeology, Buddhism, and multicultural heritage.
Unlike most tours, we intentionally avoid the crowded temples at the beginning of the journey. Instead, we visit quieter historical sites first, helping you understand how Ayutthaya developed before exploring its best-known monuments, including stories of the Muslim communities that once played an important role in the city.
After collecting your bicycle, ride along peaceful back roads and discover Ayutthaya’s role as one of Asia’s great international port cities, along with Buddhist stories and local history that are rarely explained at the major tourist temples.
You will then visit three of Ayutthaya’s most important historical highlights:
- Wat Mahathat – famous for the Buddha head entwined in tree roots.
- Wat Ratchaburana – known for its impressive prang and hidden chamber.
- Wat Phra Si Sanphet – the former royal temple located within the old palace area.
We will also make a photo stop at Wat Phra Ram, one of Ayutthaya’s most picturesque ancient temples.
During the trip, enjoy a taste of Ayutthaya’s famous local sweets and authentic Ayutthaya boat noodles, giving you a chance to experience the city’s food culture as well as its history.
Please arrive at the meeting point after 8:45 a.m. The tour will depart at 9:00 a.m.
