What a typical class looks like: An introduction to reading maps (along with terrain association, and techniques to navigate and route - without a compass) Instruction on how to use a compass and how to adjust for declination, shoot and follow a bearing. ·A detailed overview on how to take bearings and trip planning and navigating to a destination on the map. ·Practice sessions on how to triangulate and find a position on the map. ·Q&A Session Class Pre-Requisites: Be able to walk on a trail on mildly hilly terrain up to 2-3 miles. Be able to stand for several hours at a time Participants should dress appropriately for weather and conditions. Completion of a liability waiver prior to class. Must be 12+ (minors must be accompanied by an adult, and have a legal guardian sign a liability form.)
