Activity itinerary

Baltimore

  • 30m
Baltimore's oldest public market has stood in Fells Point since 1786, and tucked inside it is a Polish deli that locals have leaned on since 1985. You'll taste mixed pierogies, the soft dumplings that fed generations of the neighbourhood's dock-working families. What you'll taste: Mixed pierogies (potato, or kraut and mushroom)

Fell's Point Farmers Market

  • 30m
You cannot understand Baltimore without the blue crab. At a harbourside seafood spot you'll taste a proper Maryland crab cake, the local benchmark: sweet lump crab meat, barely any filler, the way the city has made it for generations. What you'll taste: Maryland crab cake

Frederick Douglass - Isaac Myers Maritime Park

  • 30m
Tells the storey of Frederick Douglass, who worked in the Fells Point shipyards, and the first African American-owned shipyard in the country. The tour passes through this stretch of waterfront history

Baltimore Visitor Center

  • 30m
The starting point for understanding the neighbourhood's 250-year history, a useful orientation landmark for guests arriving for the tour.

President Street Station

  • 30m
The rail station where many Italian immigrants first arrived in Baltimore in the late 1800s before settling a few streets away in Little Italy.

Little Italy

  • 15m
Little Italy is a few narrow streets of multi-generational family restaurants, and here you'll taste the classics that have anchored them for decades. Think the deep, comforting flavours of Italian-American home cooking, the food these families have served since their grandparents opened the doors. What you'll taste: A classic Little Italy plate (arancini, meatballs, or pizza)
