What you can expect

Barolo, truffles, and a UNESCO castle — one easy day from Milan.

The Langhe hills are UNESCO-listed for a reason: nowhere else in the world produces Barolo, the king of Italian wines. This small-group day from Milan takes you to the source — a family winery, a medieval food capital, and a hilltop castle with views across the vineyards you've just tasted. Private transport, expert local guide, no driving, no planning.

Alba — Italy's food capital, on your own terms

Your day starts in Alba, birthplace of Nutella and capital of the white truffle — one of Italy's most celebrated food towns. Around 2 hours of free time to wander the medieval streets, step into artisan food boutiques, and choose your own lunch — from rustic trattorias to refined Piedmontese cuisine. Your guide will give you honest recommendations: where locals actually eat, what to order, what to bring home.

A family winery — and the people behind the bottles

In the afternoon, a family-run winery opens its cellar doors to your group. Walk through the cellar where the bottles age, then sit down for a guided tasting of up to 7 wines — including Barolo — with the producers themselves. Every glass comes with a storey, told by the people who made it. No tourist trap, no commercial tasting room: the real thing.

Grinzane Cavour — a castle, a UNESCO view, and the landscape in your glass

The day ends at Grinzane Cavour Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. From the terrace, sweeping views stretch across the vineyards that gave birth to Barolo — the same landscape you've been tasting all afternoon. On Tuesdays, when the castle is closed, your guide takes you to La Morra or Barbaresco instead — two of the most spectacular viewpoints in the Langhe.

What makes this tour different

Private air-conditioned transport, expert English-speaking local guide throughout the day, small group, all logistics handled. Maximum 19 guests, return to Milan by early evening. No driving, no planning, no chasing wineries on your own — just Barolo, truffles, and the Langhe at their best, handled for you.
