Tiananmen Square is located on Chang'an Avenue in Dongcheng District, the central area of Beijing. It is 880 metres long from north to south and 500 metres wide from east to west, covering an area of 440,000 square metres. It is the largest city centre square in the world and can accommodate one million people for gatherings. Tiananmen Square is one of the national symbols of China and an important venue for national celebrations, people's gatherings, commemorative and commendatory activities. Major events such as National Day military parades and the Conference Celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the Founding of the Communist Party of China have been held here. These events have demonstrated China's national image and strength to the world, and also enabled people to feel the dignity and glory of the country.

The Forbidden City is located in the centre of Beijing. It was the imperial palace for the Ming and Qing emperors. carrying a history of over five hundred years. It has witnessed numerous significant historical events and the changes of dynasties, allowing visitors to directly experience the life of ancient royal families and the vicissitudes of history. It covers an area of 720,000 square metres, with a total floor space of about 150,000 square metres. There are over 70 palaces of various sizes and more than 9,000 rooms.
