Johnny will show you how he judges olive oil in the International Competitions he works in (Japan, Germany, Greece, Tunisia…) so that you can appreciate some of the world's greatest olive oils in all their delicious complexity. While showing you how to do this he will explain what we are looking for when we are judging an oil (much like with wine). He will explain how oil is made (both well and badly…) and what all those confusing things like extra virgin; 'cold' pressed etc. mean. But the whole purpose of this experience is to show you what to do with these amazing oils: how, the moment you combine them with right food (prepared specifically for this tasting), the oils come into their own and the food becomes something surprisingly, mouthwateringly different. This light meal is accompanied by a glass of wine or beer which is included in the price. This is a very vegetarian/vegan-friendly experience and we can happily cater for gluten-free or any other food requirements. The whole experience is held in the super-friendly cafe, La Ola Fresca, in Benimaclet.
