Day 1: Arrival in Paro – Transfer to Thimphu
Arrive at Paro International Airport, where you will be warmly welcomed by your guide. After a scenic drive to Thimphu, visit the towering Buddha Dordenma Statue, offering panoramic views of the Thimphu Valley, and the National Memorial Chorten. In the evening, explore the local markets or relax at your hotel.
Day 2: Thimphu Sightseeing
Spend the day exploring Thimphu’s fascinating sites. Visit the Tashichho Dzong, the seat of Bhutan’s government, and the Institute for Zorig Chusum (School of Arts and Crafts), where traditional Bhutanese art is taught. Explore the Folk Heritage Museum and National Library, home to ancient manuscripts. End your day at the Craft Bazaar, where you can shop for local souvenirs.
Day 3: Thimphu to Punakha via Dochula Pass
After breakfast, embark on a scenic drive to Punakha. En route, stop at the Dochula Pass, famous for its 108 chortens and stunning views of the Himalayas. Once in Punakha, visit the Punakha Dzong, Bhutan’s most beautiful dzong, situated between the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers. Today’s adventure is the highlight of the tour – a hike to the legendary Tiger’s Nest Monastery. This sacred site, perched on a cliff 900 metres above the Paro Valley, is where Guru Rinpoche is said to have meditated. Day 7: Departure from Paro
