Your journey starts at the Balatonföldvár railway station, where your local guide meets you right on the platform. You’ll hop into an iconic 90s vintage Japanese 4x4 off-roader. If the weather is sweet, we roll with the top down for an open-air safari feel; if it rains or gets too hot, we keep you fully covered and comfortable.
Scenic Viewpoints & Historic Tihany Ferry
Our first stop is a hidden lookout point in Balatonföldvár, offering a stunning panoramic introduction to the lake. From there, we drive straight to the ferry, crossing the azure waters to the iconic Tihany Peninsula. Enjoy the fresh breeze from the deck or stay in the vintage vehicle as we land on the historic northern shore.
We leave you plenty of time to explore Tihany’s charming cobblestone streets, traditional thatched-roof houses, and the famous Benedictine Abbey at your own pace (at least 90 minutes, or longer if you prefer). Along the way, we can make several stops at local cafés, pastry shops, and artisan ice cream spots whenever you need a sweet break.
Rolling Hills & Off-Road Thrills
After boarding the ferry back to the southern shore, we head up into the rolling hills of Kötcse and visit the Nezdepuszta viewpoint for another breathtaking perspective of the lake.
As the afternoon winds down, we venture deeper into the rugged terrain near Szólád, tackling the trails up to Kőröshegy. Your vintage 4x4 will conquer the off-road paths to reach a spectacular panoramic hilltop. Far from any crowds, you’ll enjoy an unforgettable view across the entire lake to crown your countryside escape.
Easy Return to Budapest
As the day draws to a close, your guide will drive you smoothly back to Balatonföldvár railway station, perfectly timed for your direct train back to Budapest for a completely stress-free end to your trip.
