    Free visit to the Underground Trullo; a family-owned Trullo, inherited from father to son over 3 generations.

    The Underground Trullo is divided into two floors: two conical rooms on the upper floor and an underground room with a barrel vault which in the past was part of the indispensable home to accommodate the large family who lived there, an ancient peasant family who he also dedicated himself to cattle breeding.

    Inside the Trullo Sotterraneo, in a family atmosphere, it is possible to admire a laboratory and a showroom dedicated to local craftsmanship, that is to the processing of the "chiancarella" stone with which the craftsman Leonardo creates magnificent personalised miniature trulli that are not simple souvenirs but they want to tell the travel experience, the emotion and the time lived in Alberobello by each visitor.

What you can expect

  • Book your workshop and learn how to build a trullo, with the help of the craftsman Leo. Explore Alberobello and at the end of the experience, you will receive a “Trullo kit” ready to be assembled with stone pieces already cut and processed, glue and relative instructions. Demonstrations at “Trullo Sotterraneo” can be booked every day from 10.30 a.m. to 20.00 p.m. for small groups and families.
