Join a small group day trip to see the amazing natural phenomenon of Gunung Leuser National Park in Bukit Lawang.

Start your expedition with meeting the guide in Bukit Lawang and continued into the national park. Embark in to the beautiful old growth lowland rainforest with lots of large old trees around. The forest is wonderful for primate watching, as it is home to: Sumatran White-handed Gibbons (Hylobates lar vestitus), Southern Pig-tailed Macaques, Thomas’ Leaf Monkey aka Thomas’ Langur, Great Argus Pheasant and Sumatran Orangutans.

The tour is offered in two options; 3 hour option and 6 hour option. While dealing with nature, the longer time spending in the forest correlate with the higher chance of seeing all the living natural habitats.

After few hours in the forest, head back to the village/town of Bukit Lawang. Raft back along the Bohorok river. The rafting is in large rubber tyres with sort of hammock mats in the bottom to sit on. Rafting back to the village in a tyre past the nice forest with big dipterocarps and tree ferns.
