What you can expect

The tour takes us about 800 metres from Tossens beach into the mudflats – to a small tidal channel and sometimes even to an old boat wreck, which we affectionately call our “shipwreck.” There's plenty to discover along the way: various mussels, the almost legendary lugworms, the fastest snail in the world, and also beach crabs, which like to spend the summer near the beach in the warm mudflats.
We test different types of soil under our feet, and those who are brave can even sink in really deep! Together, we ask exciting questions: Where does all the water go at low tide? And what's the deal with the tides? Together, we will solve this mystery!
You will be accompanied by experienced mudflat and national park guides who will explain everything to you and be happy to answer your questions.
The tour lasts approximately 1.5 hours and ends back at Tossens beach. In summer, you can easily walk in socks, and in boots from November to April.
The tidal flats in Tossens are mostly solid. Therefore, the route is easy to walk.
