What you can expect

  • Board a custom-built boat and explore 14 miles (22 km) of Kona’s beautiful coastline as you cruise to the Captain Cook monument in Kealakekua Bay. Plunge into the clear waters and snorkel with tropical fish before you savour fresh fruit and gourmet sandwiches.

Embark on a US Coast Guard-certified vessel, the 29-foot (9-m) Wicked Wahine, with comfortable padded seating for 14 people, and cruise along the coast. With conveniences like a shady area and a toilet, the vessel offers more comforts than an exposed Zodiac raft.

As you make your way to the Captain Cook Monument, watch for pods of Hawaiian spinner dolphins and try to spot humpback whales. If the conditions allow and the dolphins are inviting, jump at the chance to swim with these playful animals in the warm Kona water before sailing to your snorkelling spot.

Near the Captain Cook Monument on the shore, discover why Kealakekua Bay is one of the best snorkelling spots in Hawaii and don your mask, dive in, and explore the calm, clear water teeming with fish and beautiful coral. After you refuel with lunch and tropical fruit, begin the cruise back and stop at lava tubes, caves, and Hawaiian historical sites along the way.
