What you can expect

  • The activity will commence with hotel pick-ups at 4:00 am from locations in the Miraflores, San Isidro, and city centre Lima districts. Guests will be transferred to the bus terminal, where they will board a bus bound for Barranca at 5:00 am.
  • Upon arrival, a guide will meet guests at the station. There will be time for guests to enjoy breakfast on their own before embarking on a guided tour of Caral City.
  • Caral is an archaeological site boasting truncated pyramids, temples, and astronomical centers dating back over 5,000 years. Situated in the Supe Valley, it is considered the birthplace of Andean civilisation and the third oldest human settlement globally, following Mesopotamia and Egypt. After exploring Caral, guests will have an hour of free time for lunch before proceeding to Barranca to visit the Cristo Redentor monument. Subsequently, there will be free time to explore the Plaza de Armas, renowned as the heroic city for its inhabitants' valour during the Pacific War. Evidence of this valour includes the anchor and chain from the Chilean squadron's ship, Covadonga.
  • The tour concludes with a return to the Barranca bus terminal at 4:30 p.m. for the journey back to Lima. The tour is expected to conclude around 8:30 p.m. Last-minute reservations are subject to tour operation changes.
