Depart from the main port of Souda at 09:30 and cruise through the deep blue waters of Souda Bay. Relax to pleasant music as the boat passes the islet of Souda, standing like a natural guardian at the entrance of the harbour.
On the islet, admire Fortezza, a Venetian fortress built in 1571, which for centuries protected the port of Souda and the city of Chania.
Continue towards the northwestern side of the bay and enjoy views of the steep slopes of the Akrotiri Peninsula, where stunning beaches are formed. The ship will dock at Marathi Beach for approximately 2 hours.
Marathi’s sandy shore, shallow waters, and sheltered location make it ideal for families and children. You may choose to relax on board or disembark to swim at Marathi Beach.
The cruise then continues along the southeastern side of the bay, with an additional swim stop near one of the area’s sheltered beaches (depending on the weather), where the boat will anchor for a refreshing swim in crystal-clear waters.
On the return journey, admire the mountains of the Apokoronas Peninsula rising above the bay and offering breathtaking views. Atop one of these mountains lies the ancient city of Aptera, once one of the most important city-states of western Crete.
At Kalami Hill see the historic Izzeddin Fortress, a Turkish stronghold built in 1870, named after the eldest son of a Sultan and now designated as a cultural heritage monument.
Filled with unforgettable images and memories from this fascinating sea adventure, return to the port of Souda at 15:00.
