BEYNAC CASTLE is the most authentic and iconic fortified castle in the Périgord.
Open all year round, every day, without interruption.
Located in the wonderful village of Beynac-et-Cazenac, named the most beautiful village in France, overlooking the Dordogne, Beynac Castle offers an exceptional visit for kids and adults alike, with total immersion in the era of Richard the Lionheart and Eleanor of Aquitaine!
Overlooking the stunning Dordogne Valley, Château de Beynac is located in the heart of the Valley of the Five Castles.
Visiting it means experiencing the History of France in a fortified castle – a REAL one, the one of our imagination, the one where Jean-Marie Poiré's film “Les Visiteurs” was filmed, with the iconic Jacquouille la Fripouille, the one in Ridley Scott's “The Last Duel” with Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, the one in “Fortune de France” with Nicolas Duvauchelle…
With family or friends, let yourself be amazed by a series of monumental furnished rooms
(Great Hall of the Estates of the Barons of Périgord, Gigantic Banquet Hall, Impressive Castle Kitchens), all presented in a lively and accessible museum-style format for all ages, enhanced throughout the year by fun events (“Gourmet February,” “Castle Celebrations,” “Medieval Reenactment Days,” etc.) that will appeal to history buffs, architecture lovers and curious visitors passing through our beautiful Périgord Noir!
From the top of its keep, its panorama of the Dordogne Valley, rated three stars by the Michelin Green Guide, will leave you with a memory etched forever in your mind.
You too can visit Beynac, step through the monumental gate of Château de Beynac and enjoy this unforgettable experience of a great journey through history to the medieval period.
