Begin your adventure with a pickup from your hotel in city centre Chengdu. Travel to Jiuzi Village, a hidden gem nestled deep in the mountains of Li County. Once a key military garrison under the Qing Dynasty's “Five Garrisons” system, this ancient Qiang fortress now stands as a haunting ruin. Wander through the crumbling stone walls scattered across a 2,600-meter alpine meadow, with wild horses grazing, distant snow peaks shimmering, and nothing but wind and silence. Thanks to its raw, untouched beauty, it has been called “Western Sichuan's Machu Picchu.”

Next, head to Ganbao Tibetan Village, the largest and best-preserved Gyalrong Tibetan settlement in Li County.
