What you can expect

Begin your adventure at the charming fishing village of Chora Sfakion. As you leave the harbour, the dramatic coastline unfolds before you – towering cliffs, deep gorges plunging into the Libyan Sea, and the majestic peaks of the White Mountains in the distance. This is a view you simply cannot experience from the road.

Head to Domata Beach, the furthest destination and the highlight of the trip. Domata is a wild, remote beach famous for its striking layered rock formations and turquoise waters. There is no road access – the only way to reach it is by boat or a challenging hike. Here, you'll feel like you've discovered your own private paradise. Swim, snorkel, or simply soak in the silence of this untouched corner of Crete.

Next, visit Fournoti and Kalogeros, neighbouring beaches that are equally remote and breathtaking. With dramatic cliffs as your backdrop and crystal-clear waters perfect for swimming, these are the kinds of places that make you forget the outside world exists.

Continue to Agios Pavlos Beach, a beach steeped in history. The tiny Byzantine chapel of Agios Pavlos stands alone on this deserted stretch of sand, a testament to the area's rich past. Legend has it that the Apostle Paul landed here on his journey to Rome. The spiritual atmosphere and wild beauty make this a truly special stop.

Next, visit Marmara Beach, named for its unique white marble pebbles. Marmara is a stunning contrast of white stones and deep blue water. It's an ideal spot for lunch, relaxation, and photos. The beach has a small taverna where you can enjoy fresh local food.

Then, head to Loutro Village, a picturesque car-free village accessible only by boat or on foot. With its whitewashed houses, turquoise bay, and laid-back atmosphere, Loutro is the perfect place to stretch your legs, grab a coffee, or enjoy a traditional Greek lunch by the water.

End your journey with a refreshing swim at Glyka Nera (Sweet Water Beach), one of Crete's most unique beaches. Fresh water springs bubble up through the pebbles, mixing with the sea – hence the name “Sweet Water.” The contrast of cool freshwater and warm sea creates an unforgettable swimming experience.
