What you can expect

Embark on a one-day hike from Cluj Napoca to Retezat National Park, one of the most beautiful and wild mountain ranges in Europe. Choose from a variety of trails to suit your fitness level and enjoy the stunning natural scenery.

Retezat is known for its over 80 glacial lakes of a special blue, for its alpine peaks and ridges over 2500 metres high, and for the flora and fauna biodiversity encountered at every step.

As you are in Țara Hațegului, an old well-preserved ethnographic region, you can visit some very old stone churches on the road back, which have a very interesting history and are strongly connected with the Romanian genesis.

Choose the hike which suits your level of fitness. Opt for an easy hike (3-4 hours with elevation up to 600 metres), a moderate hike (6-7 hours and up to 1000 metres elevation), or a difficult hike (8-10 hours with more than 1000 metres elevation).
