What you can expect

The best way to learn about a new culture is to learn about what the locals eat. Costa Rica has an amazing cuisine that is healthy, natural, and actually very easy to learn how to cook. Take some of the best local recipes back home with you after this cooking experience.

These cooking classes are a great way to get to know other travellers and hang out with a knowledgeable local chef. As soon as you finish cooking, you will be able to sit down to the delicious meal you helped cook up and chat about the “Pura Vida” of Costa Rica.

Make sure you have brought your dancing shoes to Costa Rica, because next up you will head to the dance floor to learn how to dance to latin beats. There is no better way to spend an evening in La Fortuna than cooking, eating, and dancing like a local.

Cooked the best Casado we’ve had yet. Learned all the basics to practice salsa dancing at home. Kathy makes a mean corn tortilla that we will be making at home as well. Thank you for the experience.

The combo cooking and dance class was advertised as starting at 5pm and lasting for 2 hours. A day before the class I received a communication that I should be picked up at 4:10, and unfortunately I didn't take that in, so we arrived late. The teacher integrated us into the class gracefully. The class was quite good, had a good number of people, and people from all around the world. After we cooked the meal we sat down and ate it with the other participants, and finished around 7:30. The dance class took place at a location 5 minutes drive away, and after we parked and found the location, we only had 15 minutes of the dance class before we had to leave at 8pm. :-(

: Great family time. The facilitator was very nice, pleasant and understanding. Even the children enjoyed this good time. The preparation of the typical Costa Rican dish was very instructive and very good to taste. The salsa steps were a good time

: An interesting course in which I was able to discover new things even as a passionate cook. Very, very friendly and personable hosts. The salsa course was really fun (also with corona distance rules). It was a very entertaining and fun evening.
