This introductory dive with two immersions is for those who want to discover scuba diving in calm, personalised conditions. The activity is entirely private: you will be with your dedicated instructor, without other participants. The total duration is 4 hours, over the course of a morning.
Upon your arrival, we will fill out together the few documents related to diving, including the standard medical questionnaire. Diving does not require the fitness level of an athlete: the vast majority of people take part without any special preparation. Only a few specific cases, such as recent major surgery or significant ENT disorders, require prior medical advice. We will send you the form in digital format after booking, so that you can check it at your leisure in advance.
Next comes the briefing, which is comprehensive and fun. Your instructor will explain the equipment, the safety regulations, and how to get the most out of your dives. We also take the time to show you the right actions to take so as not to damage the reef. The formalities and briefing take about an hour.
You put on your gear, then gradually enter the water from the beach: no boat, no stress. If you are accompanied by loved ones who do not dive, they can stay on the beach and watch you.
We start with a few exercises on the surface, then at a shallow depth, so that you feel comfortable: allow 15 to 30 minutes, depending on how comfortable you feel. Our schedule is deliberately structured to give everyone all the time they need: no race against the clock – high spirits and enjoyment come first.
The first dive lasts approximately 45 minutes, depending on your air consumption. The pace is relaxed: we move slowly, we stop, we observe. A living reef, tropical fish, coral, and colourful sponges.
We then head to a second site, which is very close by. Allow half an hour for a break and transfer, with complimentary drinks and fruit, giving you time to catch your breath and talk about what you have seen. The second dive also lasts about 45 minutes: it is often the one where you feel truly comfortable and enjoy yourself the most. A final fifteen minutes allows time to put away the equipment and wrap up.
Your instructor will film and photograph both dives: you will take home your images at no additional cost. These images also benefit the reef: turtle sightings are sent to Sea Turtle Conservation Curaçao, and our species sightings are recorded on iNaturalist, where researchers can use them.
We most often dive at Caracas Bay and Tugboat Beach. If the day's conditions are not suitable, we will choose other sheltered locations together. You must make your own way to the dive site. Instruction is provided in French, English or Spanish.
