      What you can expect

      Once the imperial and cultural centre of Europe, Vienna is now teeming with renowned sights, including the grand Ring Road, the imposing Schönbrunn Palace, and the towering St. Stephen's Cathedral. Learn more on a guided tour followed by leisure time to explore the city at your own pace.

      A scenic drive through the regions of Bohemia and Moravia (count on 3–4 hours each way) takes you to the capital of neighbouring Austria. During the heyday of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, the city was among the most glamorous places on the continent, and it is still celebrated for its impeccable style and rich heritage. See palatial buildings along the glitzy boulevard Ring Road. Pass by the State Opera House, the iconic Rathaus (Town Hall), and the impressive Parliament Building.

      Make a stop at Schrönbrunn Palace, the former summer residence of the imperial Habsburg family. You have the option to enjoy a guided walk in the beautifully landscaped gardens and inside the palace (own expense). Then head back to the centre to see the mighty winter residence Hofburg Palace. An optional tour walks you through lavish halls and staterooms.

      After visiting the 12th-century Gothic St. Stephen's Church, you have ample leisure time to stroll in the central pedestrian zone, where boutiques and Viennese cafés abound.
