The Daymaniyat Islands are a UNESCO-listed marine nature reserve made up of nine uninhabited islands, located 16–20 km off the coast of Muscat. Known for their crystal-clear waters, white sandy beaches, and vibrant coral reefs, they are one of Oman’s top snorkelling and diving destinations. The reefs support rich marine life, including reef sharks, rays, colourful tropical fish, and endangered green and hawksbill turtles. The islands also serve as nesting grounds for migratory seabirds. Beach landings are restricted from May to October to protect nesting turtles, but snorkelling and diving are permitted year-round. With depths of 20–25 metres, the area offers ideal visibility for underwater photography and marine encounters. Whether you're a nature lover, diver, or casual snorkeller, the Daymaniyat Islands promise a breathtaking eco-adventure in one of Oman’s most biologically diverse protected areas.
